The history of flying machines

About one thousand years before Jesus was born, people in china used kites to lift people up.About 900 years later an english king was the first person who tried to fly using wings About 500 years ago. Sixty years later a inventor who was known as “the flying man”. He invents and flies a biplane glider. In 1903 Orville and Wilbur Wright make the first flight in a flying machine in America. Fast-forward 40 years. a man made his own jet pack In the same year someone also made a car that can fly.

Yesterday Mariko, Lee and I had lots of fun when we were helping Mr Vogt sort out the recycling outside Room 11.  We had to take all the paper and stuff out of the little yellow bin and put it in the big yellow bin. We are all getting pretty good at chucking our rubbish in the right bin.

My Birthday

On July the 9th in the school holidays it will be my birthday and i'm going to be turning 10. My dad is coming back from Australia for my birthday and we are going to go to the mall and shop for shoes clothes and stuff. We are also going to be going to Rainbows end because I haven't bean there in a long time. For my birthday I want go to the hair dresses to thin my hair and cut it I don't know what else we are going to do but it will be fun

today after morning tea room 11 did some problem solving about measurement 

Dictation race

On Tuesday room 11 had a dictation race one person had to type  and one person had to read the first person who finished first got to get a prize and i got a prize because i came first and i got a lollie

one day i went to china. we went to a school that ate Chinese every day there meals were rice dumpling noddles and chicken on morning tea they eat chicken on rice with soy  source  on lunch time they eat noddles and dumplings. the next day the principal came and told us why they eat sushi every day the reason why was because it was a foster school and they didn't have parents so we sponsored 2 hundred dollars to them so they can have a good time and get new stuff  like scooters and bikes i pads cloths and also  a park to play on.  one year later we went back and some of the kids were gone to parents we sore lots of new stuff like bikes scooters and a new park we enjoyed going to china and meating some kids.

Just Keep Swimming

This term Room 11 had swimming lessons at the YMCA pools in Glen Innes.  We had to see if we had to go to the deep side or the shallow side so they had to see if we could swim. I was in the high group because I knew how to swim. Every time we got to the pools we had to answer some questions about safety and then we had to have a shower. After we had a shower we got in the pool safely and then we put our goggles on. First we did strokes and after that we did freestyle and diving. After we did that we got to throw these toys in the water and go and get them and sometimes we get to swim in the pool for free.  My favourite part of the swimming lessons was learning how to dive.

How to ride a bike

To ride a bike you need to have shoes and a helmet after you have those stuff you have to sit on the bike and if the stand is still on then push it up. So you have to ride a bike with balance and it is easy so you put one leg on one pedal and the other leg you have to push off with it so you start to move. When you get used to moving on the bike you get the hang of it to turn the  bike have to move the handles that are in front of you left or right . if you want some one could hold the seat and push the bike so you can pedal. to stop you just have to put your leg on the ground and push your leg on the stand so you can get off the bike and you could also pull the brakes. you put your helmet on with the buckle and if it is to big there should be a strap and you pull the strap up to make it tighter and to make it loose you have to loosen it. You have to make sure that your hand can fit under your helmet.

Robot rampage

At first there was a boy called hemi. Hemi didn’t like to mow his lowns so one day he thought about making a robot so he didn’t have to mow his big lowns. When he went in his garage he saw a pair of scissors a blender a nose trimmer four knifes  a laser pointer old guitar strings and a old computer so hemi said i'm going to make my own robot so hemi stayed up all night constructing his robot then he said he's alive and then it had smoke on it then he said false alarm and then said maybe not quite alive yet. In the morning hemi pulled out his robot and then he started his did the work hemi was so happy and relaxed that he fell asleep from the drone of the mower only to be woken from a scream and his robot was nowhere to be seen so he went in side and his mum was without her and she looked really funny it looked like a bowled shave his mum said she was running for a long time until she got tired when she sat down the robot came up to her and starts to cut her hair and she was really mad that she had a red face  so hemi thought and when he was thinking he realised that when he heard the screaming he knew it was his mum. so he knew his robot cut her hair of so he shut down the robot and took it apart.

Reading about birds

Today I was learning about birds in New Zealand and I found out all of this information. We had fun learning about New Zealand birds.

Multiplication monday

Multiplication Monday 

Today me and some of the kids in my class were reading a book called Multiplication Monday and the story was all about maths so one day on Monday this teacher said to her to her kids in her class to go and take a walk so they did and they went and counted all of the leaves out side by the trees and when they were counting they counted in 5,s so they found 20 leaves.

Word of the week

this week we were lerning about whanau and whanau means family.

The creek

Today room eleven went to Omaru creek first of all we had to pick a buddy my buddy was valessa after that we got our shoes and went in a line outside in our line we had to stand next to our buddies so we wouldn't lose them. After we got into a line we walked down to the gate and one of the boys in room 11 opened the gate. After we got inside the gate we both started to walk towards the creek. When we got to the creek we were looking at the  it and it looked really dirty and it also had poo in it me and valessa wanted to clean it but it was to dirty and we did not want to put our hands on the rubbish. When we were finished at the creek we went back to class and started to write.

Hi my name is Jayah and I go to pt England school and I am nine years old I love my family and I like to play mine-craft but only sometimes . My favourite food is sushi and rice but sometimes I like to eat MacDonald's me and my mum are from new Plymouth my dad is from Samoa and my brothers from Auckland. My mum is 28 years old and my dad is 27 years old my brother is only four years old I like to go for walks with my dad and I also like to go to the pools.
